熊本生まれ、魚座。東京を拠点に活動。
状態や意味がひとつに定着する前の揺らぎに関心を持ち、インスタレーションやパフォーマンスを中心に、平面、立体、テキストへも制作を展開する。空間を構成する建築的・環境的条件を取り込み、物質的な作用を詩的かつ儀式的に編成することで、そこに生じる微細な変化や痕跡を兆候として捉え、知覚と解釈がひらかれる場を探っている。
Born in Kumamoto, Japan, Hibiki Yamada is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Tokyo. Working across installation, performance, two- and three-dimensional works, and text, their practice explores states of indeterminacy before forms and meanings settle. By incorporating the architectural and environmental conditions that constitute a space, they compose material processes into poetic and ritualistic constellations, allowing subtle shifts and traces to emerge as signs while keeping perception and interpretation open.
